mongolia myths : The mongolian death worm

as the name suggest, the mongolian death worm is a worm that was believed to have existed in the Gobi desert, a large desert region in asia. The worm is known to be atleast 2-5 feet long amd has very thick bodies. Here is an illustration of the beast by belgian painter Pieter Dirkx

This beast became popular when Roy Chapman Andrew, an author, made his book called " On the trail of ancient man " caught western attention. There was even a television film for this creature made in 2010 by director Steven R. Monroe 

 What is their behavior? 

This monster was said to have lived in the west and southern parts of the Gobi desert, This monsters moves underground making waves of sand at the surface and that is how they are detected by humans. Locals also say that they can spray venom to kill their pray or trough the means of electric discharge, they also say that even touching the worm will cause instant death and immeasurable pain . Their venom is also said to corrode metal. Scary right?

 What is their Appearance? 

This mythical creature is about 2 - 5 feet long and has no leg or head, they have thick bodies. This worm is believed to have preyed on camels and laid eggs on their intestines and acquire the red skin.
